Chakra Healing

Finding your chakras out of balance is a fairly common thing- in fact, most of us probably don’t know what it feels like to be in balance, because we’re so out of touch with our bodies. To get back in sync, it’s important to practice some kind of chakra healing. It doesn’t really matter what technique is used, the important thing is that it feels right and comfortable to you.

There are seven chakra centers, and each is affiliated with a color and a crystal. The stones can be used all at the same time, or you can focus on balancing and healing one chakra at a time. To start chakra healing, you should perform a cleansing first. For this, you will need a stone that is known to draw energy out- hematite or obsidian work well here. Take the stone in whichever hand you use most, and wind it in a counterclockwise motion, moving closer to the energy point on your body that needs healing. As you do this, envision the negative energy being drawn into the stone. Start at the lowest chakra and move on up the body until all chakras are balanced.

When you feel as if all your chakras are in line and clean, you can place a stone on each center. There are many stones to choose from, and some of the most commonly used are red tiger’s eye, carnelian, citrine, jade, turquoise, amethyst and quartz.

Lie down with each stone placed on the appropriate chakra point. Start at the bottom and visualize the stone filling each chakra with pure light, picturing the energy flowing clockwise. When a point feels clear and strong, proceed to the next one.

Chakra therapy can be used to treat many bodily imbalances. Working with each chakra individually or all together can be equally effective. Whichever method you choose, chakra healing is best done with a partner so the stones are properly placed.
